BARD Didn’t Need Flash.

They Needed It Done Right.

Some projects are fast.

Others take a little more patience.

BARD’s locker room project?
This one earned its finish.

A Project That Took Time to Come Together

The first conversations started early.

There was a vision—an upgrade across the entire athletic facility. Not just one room, but multiple spaces that needed to feel cohesive, functional, and built to last.

But like a lot of campus projects, things shifted.

New people stepped in.
Approvals slowed down.
Priorities moved around.

For a while, everything was in motion—but nothing was final.

That’s more common than most people think.

“We were talking about this project for months before anything was locked in. A lot changed on their end—new people, new timelines—but once it came together, it really came together.”
— Grace

The Turning Point: When Decisions Get Made

By late fall, things clicked.

Approvals came through.
Designs were finalized.
And now the timeline mattered.

Because once materials are ordered and production starts, everything becomes real.

Grace was direct about it—like she always is.

If you want to hit a deadline, decisions have to follow.

No fluff. Just clarity.

And once BARD committed, the entire project shifted from “in discussion” to “in motion.”

Not One Room—An Entire Facility

This wasn’t a one-team install.

It was a full rollout across multiple programs—each space needing to feel like part of the same system.

The approach was intentional:

  • Consistent locker design across teams
  • Double-door lockers to keep spaces clean and organized
  • Cushioned seating for comfort and daily use
  • Integrated branding with logos and nameplates
  • A layout that made the entire facility feel unified

Some programs want every room to look different.

BARD wanted the opposite.

They wanted consistency. Clean lines. A facility that felt connected no matter which team walked in.

And when it’s done right, you feel that immediately.

When the Plan Meets Reality

Even after approvals, the job wasn’t simple.

Construction was still happening.

Rooms weren’t always ready when they needed to be.

So instead of forcing a single install timeline, the project shifted to a phased approach—installing one room at a time, working alongside ongoing construction.

That kind of flexibility matters more than people realize.

Because in real-world projects, the plan is rarely perfect.

“We had to install in phases because construction was still going on. That’s just part of it—you adjust, you stay on schedule as best you can, and you keep things moving.”
— Grace

A Clean Finish That Feels Intentional

When everything came together, the result was exactly what BARD set out to build:

A clean, cohesive facility
Lockers that feel consistent across every team
Spaces that are functional, durable, and easy to maintain

Nothing overdesigned. Nothing forced.

Just a well-executed system that works.

And for the athletes walking into those rooms, it feels like a real upgrade—something they can use every day, not just something that looks good on a tour.

What This Project Really Shows

(And That’s the Fun Part

If you manage facilities, construction, or athletic programs, you already know:

Projects don’t fail because of design.
They fail because of misalignment.

Too many voices.
Delayed decisions.
Timelines that don’t match reality.

What made this project work wasn’t that everything went perfectly.

It’s that once decisions were made, everyone moved in the same direction.

Clear approvals.
Open communication.
And a willingness to adapt when needed.

That’s what actually gets projects across the finish line.

Grace’s Take

Grace doesn’t overcomplicate things.

Her perspective is simple:

Get clear. Stay responsive. Solve the problem in front of you.

“This one took time to get going, but once everything was approved, it moved. And at the end of the day, they got exactly what they needed—and that’s what matters.”
